Every review I’ve read of the Moto X has pretty much said the same three things: This phone is fast. This phone feels amazing in the hand. This phone has the worst camera on the planet. According to Brian Klug from AnandTech, Motorola just pushed out a software update to the T-Mobile version of the Moto X that fixes the device’s one glaring issue. Klug calls the improvement “the biggest I’ve ever seen” to come via an OTA update, which says a lot coming from an optical engineer.

When will your AT&T or Verizon Moto X get the update? Tough call. Each operator works on their own schedule. The bits are definitely out there, so it’s just a matter of a few keystrokes being typed into a keyboard at the head offices of America’s two bigger wireless operators.

While I’m on the subject of cameras, I’d like to bring up the Nexus 5. The rumors say it’ll have the same 13 megapixel camera module with optical image stabilization that’s found in the LG G2. My gut tells me that’s not going to happen, but if it does, then maybe we’ll all finally be able to live the dream of having stock Android and a camera that’s not a total pile of garbage.
