For fans of Angry Birds or any other game created by Rovio, you will be glad to hear that the company has announced plans to bring about a new service called Rovio Accounts that will allow you to pick up your saved progress on any mobile device. This means if you got to level 20 through Angry Birds on your iPhone, and then started playing the game on your Android tablet you would be able to resume from where you left off on your iPhone (in the case of our example, level 20).
Rovio has mentioned that Rovio Accounts will be coming to all games created by Rovio, but the rollout will initially be slow. In fact, Rovio hasn’t even really mentioned when Rovio Accounts will be accessible to everyone. At the time of writing this article Rovio Accounts works with The Croods globally and Angry Birds in Finland and Poland.
Although it has been possible for a long time to sync progress between your iPhone and iPad thanks to iCloud, Rovio Accounts will open up syncing to all other platforms. This is great for individuals with devices running multiple operating systems.
