Moto X+1 Leak Confirms New Design Details
New images of the Motorola Moto X+1 have confirmed the new design including a brand new power button
Motorola’s Moto X+1 is set for a launch on September 4 at a special event being held in Chicago. At the event we expect to see a couple of products on show including the previously announced Moto 360 smartwatch, but the main focus will be on the next flagship handset.
Some new photos of the handset have leaked confirming a few more of the design features. The images come from TK Tech News, a source that has had previous success with getting leaks right.
The big changes this time around include a new loudspeaker below the display. It’s currently unclear if there’s another loudspeaker above the display or if it’s just a normal earpiece.
On the front of the handset there are four new sensors in the corners of the phone. It resembles something similar to the sensors on the Amazon Fire phone but it’s currently unknown what functionality these will offer this time around.
Flipping over to the back there’s a new oversized Motorola logo right in the centre of the handset, it’s even the size of the camera lens. It turns out the logo is a power button in a similar vein to the LG G3.
The camera is larger than on the Moto X because there’s a built-in flash around the edge. This version of the handset has come with a wood finish back and aluminium frame around the sides. There’s rumoured to be a Moto Maker design website similar to the one made for the original handset. Just like the first Moto Maker it allows you to create different designs when buying your phone.
Custom design options are rumoured to include plastic, wood, leather, denim and carbon fiber. There’s not long to wait now until the release of the Moto X+1 so keep an eye on KYM on Thursday September 4.
