Potential Moto X owners, here is some good news for you. Motorola has officially dropped the price of the Moto X to $99 on-contract across all the major U.S carriers, except Verizon. This includes Sprint, AT&T and US Cellular. It is unclear whether Verizon will be dropping the price for its variant of the Moto X as well, or not.
Ever since it was launched for a price of $199 on-contract, the Moto X has been deemed as over-priced, especially since it offers mediocre specs. Better late than never, with Motorola now dropping the price of the 16GB version of the handset to $99 on a two-year contract. The price of the 32GB variant, which is exclusive to AT&T, has also been dropped to $149.99. The new prices are being displayed on Motorola’s official website for the Moto X and the Moto Maker.
Sadly, Moto Maker is still exclusive to AT&T and the price of the retail unlocked version of the Moto X is still pretty high. Hopefully, with the Holiday season fast approaching in the US, Motorola will reduce the prices of the retail version and kill the Moto Maker exclusivity to AT&T as well.
