LG, today (On a Saturday morning!), announced a new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean running tablet, the G Pad 8.3. As the name suggests, the G Pad 8.3 sports an 8.3-inch screen with WUXGA (1920*1200) resolution, which translates into 273 pixels-per-inch.

Inside the G Pad is the Snapdragon S600 running at 1.7GHz, and an Adreno 320 GPU with 2GB of RAM. Even though the tablet weighs around 338gms, it packs in a beefy 4600mAh battery. The tablet also includes some of the features as seen on the LG G2 including Knock On (double tap on the screen to wake the device), Slide Aside, QSlide and Quick Remote.

“Complementing our G Series smartphones, the introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 further strengthens LG’s premium lineup consisting of our most cutting-edge devices,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Our G Pad is just another example of LG delivering devices with the unique selling points consumers around the world will appreciate.”

By using Q Pair, the G Pad can also act as a companion to your Android smartphone made by any OEM. Q Pair will automatically show all the notifications that you receive on your Android smartphone on the G Pad, including incoming calls and messages.

While the G Pad 8.3 runs on Android 4.2.2, LG has included some tweaks of its own. This includes Slide Aside which enable some unique multi-tasking gestures and more. The G Pad will be available globally in key markets including North America, Europe and Asia in the fourth quarter of 2013. The pricing of the tablet will be revealed sometime close to its launch.
