A new video has surfaced today that compares alleged iPad 5 case parts with the iPad 4. We’ve heard and seen plenty of rumors about the iPad 5 and its iPad Mini-like design and if this video is to be believed, the iPad 5 does look like a larger iPad Mini, which means that it will indeed be smaller and thinner in size.
Apple has already sent out invites for the September 10th event, where it will reveal the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. We’re not sure if new iPads will be announced at the same time as it might happen sometime in October instead.
Lewis Hilsenteger, who runs the YouTube channel ‘Unbox Therapy‘, has posted a new video comparing leaked iPad 5 parts with that of the current iPad 4. He mentions that the bezel is definitely gone and the new iPad 5 feels much easier to hold. The leaked case is also 1.5 cm smaller in width to the current generation iPad and has the same display size. He also has with him the front digitizer assembly that belongs to the iPad 5. Check out the video comparison below:
The new iPad 5, according to leaked cases, will also have upgraded speakers like the iPad Mini and new volume button layout. It is also rumored to feature a new A7 based processor and other bumped up specs.
Do you like the new design? Or do you prefer the older, bulkier iPad?
