HTC One Mini 2 Confirmed By Certification Scheme
HTC’s miniature version of the One M8 has now been confirmed by the GCF
After being the HTC One M8 was the most leaked handset of all time, it was always going to be difficult for HTC to keep the miniature version under wraps. We now know it’s definitely coming soon thanks to the Global Certification Forum.
The GCF is an “independent certification scheme for mobile phones and wireless devices that are based on 3GPP standards.” It has been confirmed by the after a minature version of the handset was certified.
If you look closely on the site you’ll find that it was the European model which has been certified by the GCF. That’s because it comes with LTE bands used in Europe which are 3,7, 8 and 20.
US fans don’t be disheartened though, it’s probably just that it was easier to use the European version. We’ve heard a number of rumours suggesting there will be a Verizon version so it’s bound to land in the US too.
Various rumours have suggested the new smaller version of the handset will be larger than the HTC One Mini. It’s likely it’ll have a 4.5-inch 720p display with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor inside. It’s also likely it’ll lose the dual-camera technology which is available on the HTC One M8 and HTC will opt for a 13MP rear camera.
It’ll have Android 4.4 KitKat as standard alongside HTC’s very own Sense 6.0 UI overlay. All that’s left to do is wait for HTC to confirm the handset, no word on when that’ll happen but it can’t be too far away.
