Google Play Now Accepts PayPal
PayPal comes to Google Play in 12 countries. Did your home nation make the cut?
It’s been rumoured for a while but you now have another option when paying for items in the Google Play Store – PayPal. Google has now confirmed users in 12 countries – including the UK and US – can now use PayPal as a payment method for goods and services.
App and game sales have grown 300% in the last year, according to Google. And in order to keep that train-a-chuggin, Google wants to make payment even easier. Hence the inclusion of PayPal. If you live in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, the US or the UK you’ll be able to pay by PayPal from today.
When you get to the payment stage in the Google Play Store sign into your account and just select the PayPal option. Simple.
This helpful little GIF from the Android Developers blog shows how exactly it works.
It’s not just PayPal now though, Google has expanded some of its other payment options. You can now pay with carrier billing in 7 more countries bringing the total to 24. For a full list of which countries are now supported, hit up the following link > Google Play website.
Google Play gift cards have been expanded as well and are now available in 13 additional countries.
