Google LEGO Will Change Internet Search On Mobile Devices
Google is working on a new way to search on mobile devices, codenamed LEGO
LEGO has been pummelling everybody’s senses for the past few months with endless game tie-ins, TV adverts, The Simpsons and of course The Lego Movie. Thankfully, Google’s LEGO project has literally nothing to do with the Danish toy company.
LEGO is in fact the codename for Google’s new search redesign specifically for mobile devices. Android Police is currently reporting LEGO’s main feature will be the inclusion of animations in your search results.
It will allow users to interact with certain results which aren’t possible on the current mobile version of Google. Smooth animations and interactive knowledge graph cards are being developed at Google which allow for swiping through search results. It’s a much more mobile friendly interface, apparently.
If you’re reading this on a mobile device you can have a quick taste of how the interface works by following this link. It’s not guaranteed to work though, it’s been breaking on and off for a while.
Google clearly wants to bring a better search experience for mobile devices. There’s no word on when the new LEGO features will be rolling out but it’s nearing the end of its project cycle.
The new interface looks interesting and you can watch this video to see it in action.
Do you think Google on mobile devices needs some work? Does the LEGO project meet your needs?
