Qualcomm may have a faster and better processor coming down the pike. Benchmark results hints at ab updated version of the Snapdragon 800 chip, which was introduced earlier this year and now powers the Moto X and LG G2. The current version of the processor is clocked at 2.3GHz processor and includes the Adreno 320 GPU.
A recently discovered benchmark in AnTuTu suggests Qualcomm is working on a 2.5Ghz quad-core chip that features an Adreno 420 GPU. A faster processor coupled with a better GPU is good news to smartphone fans with an eye for raw processing power.
Benchmark results only tell you how fast a phone is performing and what hardware is powering it. There are no details on when this chipset may be announced or when it will actually land in new devices. For most Android hardware fans, it won’t be soon enough.
