Back near the middle of July we reported that Apple started sending out invitations to the public to try out iWork for iCloud beta. Now, however, Apple has opened the doors to everyone who wants to try out the new version iWork that works in any browser on any operating system.
You don’t even have to be an existing iWork customer to take advantage of the new web apps that include Pages, Numbers and Keynote. If you are though you will be glad to know that you will have access to all of your iCloud documents right from your browser without any additional work on your end.
Keep in mind that iWork for iCloud is still in beta so you should expect a few hiccups, but overall both Pages, Numbers and Keynote work quite well in the browser. And it is impressive to think they are actually running in your browser and are not native apps, that’s how well of a job Apple has done at designing them.
iWork for iCloud was first announced at the WWDC 2013 in June and was originally only available for developers to test out. As long as you have the latest version of Internet Explorer, Safari or Chrome and an iCloud account though you can now experience it for yourself by visiting iCloud.com.
