A couple of days ago we reported that Apple opened up iWork for iCloud beta to the public so that anyone could edit documents in the cloud. You didn’t even need to be an existing iWork customer to take advantage of the new web apps that include Pages, Numbers and Keynote.
It looks like too many people were interested in testing out iWork for iCloud beta, however, as Apple has now been caught limiting access to the beta service. If you try to sign up for the service you will now be prompt with something along the lines of “Sorry… We’ve had an overwhelming response. Please check back soon.”
Apple is expected to make iWork for iCloud live this Fall, it has already taken to revamping the iCloud website to make everything consistent with the new user interface in iOS 7.
If you know anything about the iWork suite it is that it hasn’t seen a major update for nearly 3 years, so upon iWork for iClouds release it is expected Apple will announce its plans with its Mac and iOS iWork apps. It is currently being rumored that they could go free to give its users more of a reason to choose them over the competition.
