Apple Could Already Be Testing iOS 7.0.1, 7.0.2 And 7.1

If web analytics from 9To5Mac are to be believed Apple could be currently testing three new upcoming firmware versions that include iOS 7.0.1, 7.0.2 and 7.1. Whenever web analytics pick up new operating systems it needs to be taken with a grain of salt, however, because it is very easy to fake a user agent (I could make myself run iOS 100 right now).

What does add legitimacy to the report though is the fact that these visits have been coming from around Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.

9To5Mac further elaborated “Information from our analytics has previously pinpointed an uptake in testing for iOS 7.0 and OS X 10.9, but it is difficult to tell precise release information based on this data. However, the analytics do provide insight into what Apple exactly is testing, when they are conducting the testing, and how widespread testing becomes overtime.”

The official release date of iOS 7 is Wednesday, September 18th and in the coming months you can indeed expect Apple to release minor bug fixes (iOS 7.0.1, 7.0.2) and a bigger update (iOS 7.1) to bring about minor new features. Apple does this with all firmware generations.
