Apple Caught Limiting Support Staff Vacations Ahead Of iOS 7 And New iPhones

So far we have heard that both AT&T and T-Mobile will be blacking out vacation time during the weekend of September 2oth. The only reason vacation periods are blacked out is in anticipation of a very popular handset.

Although we technically don’t know what handset officially, yesterday BGR was told no other high profile hands sets besides the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C would be released during the second half of September.

Now AppleInsider has gotten its hands on an internal document from Apple that purportedly shows time off available for AppleCare employees for the latter half of September. If you look closely at the image you will notice available time off decreases significantly  during September 15th to September 28th.

According to AppleInsider “The image provided shows the calendar being accessed via virtual private network from an internal Apple employee domain. Potentially identifying portions of the picture have been cropped out.”

If you know anything about Apple’s typical patterns when it comes to making products available to the public, it is roughly one week after their announcement. Both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are widely believed to be unveiled at a media event on September 10th, so availability the weekend of September 20th makes sense.

And if you are wondering why Apple would reduce the amount of time off for AppleCare staff you need to realize that between both the new iPhones and different-looking mobile operating system (iOS 7), AppleCare staff will without a doubt have their hands full. As such, Apple has restricted employee time off for a two-week span covering not only the expected launch, but a full week after.

In fact it was just yesterday we heard that Apple had began training AppleCare staff on iOS 7, to allow them to be able to convey to concerned users that although the design has changed the core functionality remains untouched.
