Age Of Empires Coming To iOS, Android & Windows Phone

Age of Empires is coming to mobile devices some point later in 2014 with a brand new look

Age of Empires is one of the most popular video game franchises of all time. The game allows players to dive straight into controlling their very own empire throughout various stages of history and now it’s coming to mobile devices.

At some point this summer, Age of Empires World Domination will launch on iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices. It’s being developed by KLab Games and the entire control and battle system has been redesigned from scratch specifically for mobile devices.

Microsoft Studios, the company which holds the publishing rights to the franchise, unveiled it through an announcement trailer. The trailer doesn’t explain much about the game but shows off a few of the different eras you’ll fight in. There’s Celts, Huns, Vikings and Franks all included.

There’s also King Arthur, Cnut The Great, Joan of Arc and Attila The Hun included in the game in some capacity.

The art style is noticeably different to the realism of previous Age of Empires titles. Characters look more animated in style but that’s probably a new design specifically for mobile devices.

We don’t know an exact release date yet for the title but it’ll be available some point during Summer 2014. For now it looks like the game will launch on all three platforms at once. We also don’t know anymore about how much it will cost to play, once we do know though we’ll be sure to keep you up to date.

In the meantime you can view the first trailer for the game below. Are you excited to play Age of Empires on your mobile phone or tablet?
