8 Apps You Should Try This Weekend

8 Apps You Should Try This Weekend

So what are you going to do this weekend ? If you are not going anywhere and thinking to stay at home, we've got for you about 8 apps and games you should check them out this weekend, some of them free and the other must be paid for.. But I am very sure you are going to love the list..
If your plans this weekend involve playing games, watching movies, reading, or even doing a little painting, we’ve got a list of apps we discovered this week that we think you’ll enjoy…

Zombie Fish TankZombie Fish Tank

Chillingo just released a fun casual game that lets you gobble up your tank mates while collecting power ups and toxic waste. This little gem is definitely fun to play, but my favorite part is that you can collect zombie fish and decorations for your aquarium. If you like virtual fish tanks, this is one for the books. Not only can you play a casual arcade style game, but if you get tired of the game, you can watch your zombie fish swim around in their creepy tank. Collect as many fish as you can and use their special stat increases to help your lovelorn floater earn more points. This game is available for the iPad for $0.99.

Festival de Cannes - Official IconFestival de Cannes – Official

This weekend, the world’s hottest celebrities are partying together in France and you’re not invited. However, you can still be a part of the celebration with this comprehensive app. Watch trailers, view photos, ready news, and listen to press conferences. You can see what movies are being shown at the Festival and learn about the award winners before your friends to. If you want others to think you are a serious movie fan, this app will give you enough data to keep you sounding smart all the way through the Oscars. This app is available for free.

Las Vegas IconLas Vegas!

If you are trying to fight off your gambling addiction and have decided not to travel to the City of Sin this weekend, you can still feel like a winner (or loser) with this board game app. Not only do you toss dice for in-game money, but luck is not the only thing you will need by your side. You will be planning your dice placement strategically based on what your opponents do. You can play solo, or join with up to three additional real life players through game center. You can win big, but there isn’t anywhere to spend your money. Too bad you can’t transfer that credit to another app. This game is available for $2.99.

Combo CrewCombo Crew

The Game Bakers are back with another touch-based adventure. This time, instead of an underwater journey, you’ll be heading to the top, knocking out baddies along the way. This is less of an adventure game and more of a fighting game. Think of it as Street Fighter for a new century. Players train up their fighters to earn more experience and become the best boxer on the block. The way to beat the enemy is with combo after combo of fighting moves. Touch, tap, and swipe your way through your enemies until you’ve made it to the top. This game is available for $1.99.

This popular painting application for Mac recently launched for the iPad. You can sketch, paint, ink, and draw using a wide variety of virtual brushes, pens, and other tools. It supports Adonit Jot Touch and other popular artist styluses and includes three layer of blending modes. You can also save images up to 2048 x 2048 and adjust for a left-handed toolbar. Go lefties! If you fancy yourself an artist, you’ll want to get your hands on this epic painting app. It is on sale for half off this weekend, so be sure to download it before it is too late. This app is available for $1.99.

F0D The Occassional IconFunny or Die’s The Occassional

Funny or Die launched a magazine in the app store a year ago that they promised to put out “occasionally.” Well, one year and six issues later, they’ve discovered that no one wants to pay for their sophomoric senses of humor, so they’ve made the magazine free. That’s right, completely and totally free. In-app purchase? No way. Paid subscription? Not even that. You can download all six previous issues, plus the current one that just launched this week without having to pay a dime. Those dummies over at Funny or Die don’t know what they’re doing. Don’t they know that you can’t sell the cow if you give away the milk? This digital magazine is available for free (yes free).

Frozen SynapseFrozen Synapse

This mind-bending iPad app made Apple’s Editor’s Choice list last week. The futuristic sci-fi themed strategy game put you in control of a troop of elite snipers who follow your orders to the letter. Send gunmen into the action while keeping them from being killed by the enemy. This multiplayer game lets you choose the moves for each of your gunman. When your opponent has done the same, your actions are played out simultaneously. So, if you thought you were going to kill an enemy, he may move before you get to him. This app is available for $6.99.
