Sony Xperia Z3 Specs Leaked IN FULL
A full run down of the specs for Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z3 handset have been leaked online
The Sony Xperia Z3 is all-but-confirmed to be launching at IFA 2014, as is its smaller, but equally powerful counterpart, the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Sony is rumoured to be working on a Compact version of 2014’s Xperia Tablet too, which could also launch at the event.
Plenty of images of the Xperia Z3 have leaked online during the past month or so, although with a launch so close this is to be expected. We know quite a bit about the handset’s proposed specs too (although, again, nothing officially, we might add).
Sony has also been on record to say it will be updating its flagship twice a year now, this way the company can always ensure its latest and greatest handset is rocking the most up to date internals.
One concern with this approach, however, is timing. Qualcomm’s 64-bit chips aren’t launching until next year at least, and Samsung looks like it might be the first Android OEM out the blocks with a 64-bit handset in the form of its Galaxy Note 4, also launching at IFA 2014.
The latest batch of leaks concerning the Sony Xperia Z3 come via China and tell us quite a few things about Sony’s upcoming flagship, but perhaps the most alarming is just how similar it is to the Sony Xperia Z2, as Android Pit demonstrates in the table below:
XPERIA Z3 | XPERIA Z2 | |
---|---|---|
CPU | Qualcomm 2.5 GHz Quad-Core | Qualcomm 2.3 GHz Quad-Core |
RAM | 3 GB | 3 GB |
DISPLAY | 5.3 inch Full HD | 5.3 inch Full HD |

“A product listing for the Z3 device on Chinese site Tenna.com.cn has popped up revealing specifications in-line with our previous thoughts. The Z3 is a slimmer and lighter version of the Z2, featuring a slightly faster processor,” the report concluded.
So, what you’re looking at is a marginally slimmer handset with a faster processor. That’s it for now… hopefully Sony has a few more surprises up its sleeve.
