LG G3 Mini Leaks As LG G3 S
LG’s G3 Mini will actually be called the LG G3 S and has now leaked with pictures, specs, and a manual
Pictures and manual documentation have leaked for a device labelled as the LG G3 S, which is thought to be the previously rumoured LG G3 Mini.
The handset documentation, which looks official, was acquired by blog MyLGPhones.com, while a series of images have emerged from China’s telecom certification authority. The device details carry the model number D772V and give proportions of 137.75mm x 69.60mm x 9.99mm with a weight of 134g.
We also get an overview of the specs – a 5in IPS display with a 720p HD resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor at 1.2GHz, 2GB RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, and a 2,540mAh battery pack – which is shown to be removable by the documentation. It also appears to have microSD support and the design looks much the same as the full-size LG G3 on a smaller scale, right down to the combined volume rocker and power button the back panel near the camera. We can expect the full suite of LG G3 features then, including Knock On and Knock Code for waking the phone.
The camera is an 8MP setup and still has the LG G3’s optical stabilisation (OIS), while a 2MP shooter faces the front. Software is Android 4.4.2 KitKat with LG’s UI layer and there’s full 4G LTE and 3G mobile data support, as well as the usual set of Wi-Fi, microUSB and the rest.
According to the source, the model number destined for the European market is D722, while the D722V is a Vodafone specific variant. There are other regional and carrier-specific variants too.
At present we still have no information on when the LG G3 S will arrive or how much it’ll cost, but it does have a lower spec than the regular LG G3, so expect it to be a bit more affordable. Our best guess is we’ll see it launched in time to make an appearance at IFA 2014.
