Phones 4U FAQ: What You Need To Know
Phones 4U has gone into administration and shops are closing all over the UK. Here’s everything you need to know
Phones 4U announced yesterday (September 14) that it had gone into administration. The news has seen 550 stores closed from today and 5,596 jobs put at risk. Phones 4U blamed the collapse on mobile network EE’s sudden decision not to renew its contract. Vodafone had made a similar move earlier this month.
“If mobile network operators decline to supply us, we do not have a business,” said Phones 4U boss David Kassler. Staff are being encouraged to turn up to work as normal for further details and will be continue to be paid until “further notice”.

How Will This Affect My Previously Purchased Mobile Phone Contract?
If you’re in a phone contract with Phones 4U, the company will continue to honour it. The company has said it will continue to provide mobile services to existing customers.
What About When My Contract Expires?
When your contract expires, it will be up to you to decide what you want to do next. Phones 4U will not renew any existing contracts.
Will My Current Insurance Policy Remain Valid?
Existing insurance policies will continue to be honoured. If you need to make a claim it will be possible to, there will still be staff available that will be able to help you make the claim over the phone.
What About My Existing Phones 4U Order?
If you’ve ordered a handset from Phones 4U that has been dispatched but it is yet to arrive, you will be able to use it as normal. If your phone is yet to be dispatched, the order will be cancelled and you’ll receive an automatic refund.
What If My Phone Is Currently Being Repaired By Phones 4U?
