How To Delete Your Netflix History
Finally Netflix allows you to delete your history, just follow these simple steps
Netflix prides itself on recording what you view and continuing to recommend similar TV programmes and films directly for your particular tastes.
The one thing that can really mess this up is when you watch something out of the ordinary, your recommendations can go right out of the window. Just one TV episode or odd film can ruin your listings and fill it full of Kids TV or Rom-Coms.
Traditionally Netflix hasn’t allowed users to delete their history. There has been no way to hide your My Little Pony addiction from others that use your account, or no way to hide if you’ve skipped ahead on the latest series of House Of Cards and you don’t want your significant other to know.
Now that has all changed. Netflix allows you to delete your viewing history, meaning you can sort it all out however you like. Here’s how you can do it.
Log Into Your Netflix
Log into your Netflix account on a mobile device or a PC. You won’t be able to access this mode from inside an app on games consoles or smart TVs.
Head Over To The Activity Page
Along the top there is a face icon on the far right, press on that and you’ll be greeted with a drop down menu. Within the drop down, select My Activity where you’ll be presented with a long list of your recent history.
Press X To Delete
Each show or film has an X on the far right as well. You have the option to either report a problem to Netflix or to press on the X and delete it from your history forever. Do that and you’ll no longer receive recommendations for the show or film, or others like it.
Thank you Netflix.
Rumours suggest Netflix is also in the process of making a new “privacy mode” for the platform. It will allow you to watch privately without your session being recorded, it’ll work in a similar way to the Incognito mode in Google Chrome.
Did you know you can also get US Netflix in the UK? Here’s how to get a shed load more content for free.
