Whistle, maker of an activity tracker for dogs, acquired by Mars Petcare

Whistle, the maker of a GPS tracker and activity monitor for dogs, has been acquired by Mars Petcare. Speaking to TechCrunch, Whistle confirmed that it has indeed joined Mars’ pet divison:

“Whistle is excited to join the Mars Petcare family. This opportunity connects the industry’s global and technology leaders, enabling a new era of pet care,” the company tells TechCrunch. “Mars Petcare and Whistle shared a core belief around the importance of pets in our lives, and we look forward to connecting nutrition, healthcare, and technology to improve the lives of pets and their families.”

According to the report, Mars Petcare purchased Whistle in February for more than $100 million — though Whistle did not confirm the figure.

Whistle, the maker of a GPS tracker and activity display for canine, has been acquired by Mars Petcare. Speaking to TechCrunch, Whistle showed that it has certainly joined Mars' puppy divison:

"Whistle is happy to sign up for the Mars Petcare circle of relatives. This possibility connects the business's international and generation leaders, allowing a brand new generation of puppy care," the corporate tells TechCrunch. "Mars Petcare and Whistle shared a center trust across the significance of pets in our lives, and we sit up for connecting nutrients, healthcare, and generation to support the lives of pets and their households."

According to the document, Mars Petcare bought Whistle in February for greater than $100 million — although Whistle didn't make sure the determine.

For the ones unfamiliar with Whistle, the corporate makes what has been referred to as the "Fitbit for canine." Its activity tracker and GPS display may also be hooked up to a canine's collar, from which it then reviews activity time, varieties of activity and extra to a hooked up iOS or Android app.
