Twitter Moments comes to Canada
Heralded as one of the ways Twitter will engage with casual users, and dismissed by long-time users as distracting and useless, Moments has arrived in Canada after a sixth-month sojourn in then U.S.
Equipped with an editorial team “from Twitter Canada headquarters in Toronto,” according to a post on the company’s blog, it is “made up of seasoned media professionals with a strong focus on unique storytelling and sharing the best content.”
“Whether it’s the latest news about Canadian PM Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) or a grassroots movement happening in Victoria or St. John’s, Moments will be a great resource for coast-to-coast Twitter stories you won’t find anywhere else.”
Available on iPhone today, a lightning bolt icon shows up on the bottom tool bar in the centre between Notifications and Messages — Twitter is positioning Moments prominently, and wants it checked often.
