Rumor: Apple to Launch 5-inch iPhone with Dual-Camera Setup in 2017
Based on data obtained from Taiwanese suppliers, Mac Otakara writes that the rumored new five-inch iPhone 7s model will have the basic specifications like the rest of the iPhone 7s series, sans the vertically aligned iSight Duo camera on the back.
Specifications for that device should be finalized during the second quarter of Apple’s 2017 fiscal year. Should the rumor pan out, 2017 iPhone lineup may look like this:
- 4.7″ iPhone 7s with LCD screen
- 5″ iPhone 7s with LCD screen
- 5.5″ iPhone 7s Plus with LCD screen
- OLED iPhone with active display area between 5.1 and 5.2 inches
Apple is also reportedly keen on using OLED displays on all variants of the handsets, but might be forced to keep it exclusive to the premium Plus model due to supply constraints. The handsets are also reported to come with a bigger screen while still retaining their existing physical dimensions. The introduction of wireless charging is also going to be among the key features of the 2017 iPhones.
