Leaked iPad Pro blueprints detail Apple’s largest tablet yet
The blueprints were published by @OnLeaks, who has an impressive track record when it comes to leaks. But as always with reports related to upcoming Apple devices, it’s best to take them with some caution until everything’s official.
But based on these specifications, the iPad Pro is to measure 306mm (12 inches) tall, 223mm (9.17 inches) wide, and just 7.2mm (0.28 inches) thick. That’s the same thickness as the iPhone 6 Plus, which is 0.3mm thinner than the original iPad Air.
One interesting thing to note about these images is that they suggest the iPad Pro will have only one connector like its predecessors, which could mean the rumors that have promised two ports — one Lightning connector and one USB-C connector — could well be completely inaccurate.
The blueprints also appear to confirm that the iPad Pro will have four speakers — two along its top edge and two along its bottom edge. The positioning of its camera, headphone jack, volume keys, and sleep/wake button remain the same as that on existing iPads.
Talk of the iPad Pro has quieted in recent months, most likely due to the launch of the Apple Watch and the new 12-inch Retina MacBook. Bloomberg reported in March that Apple was having production issues with the tablet’s display panels, which have forced it to delay the product until fall.
