D-Link announces Omna 180 Cam, the first HomeKit-enabled security camera

In spite of everything!

This isn't a drill! The first HomeKit-enabled camera has hit Apple's on-line retailer. D-Link's Omna 180 Cam is now available to buy on-line and can quickly be bought in Apple retail outlets round the global.

D-Link Omna 180 Cam HD

The D-Link Omna 180 Cam HD is a HomeKit-enabled, 1080p HD camera that gives a singular 180º box of view.

The software options movement detection, two-way audio (i.e. a speaker and a microphone), a MicroSD card slot for native recording, IR LEDs for viewing in low-light prerequisites, and an overly svelte metal body.

The D-Link Omna is your lovely same old package deal relating to in-home cameras, save for one element: HomeKit make stronger! D-Link has effectively taken the lead on the HomeKit-enabled security camera marketplace.

I am hoping D-Link's win evokes extra firms to get their cameras ship-shape and out on the marketplace quickly.

The D-Link Omna 180 Cam retails for $199.99 in the U.S.

What do you assume?

Is that this the HomeKit-enabled camera for you? Are you looking ahead to some other corporate to get their camera to marketplace (we are taking a look at you, Withings and Canary)? Lemme know in the feedback or over on Twitter!
