Amazon is continuously adding new movies and TV shows to its Prime video streaming service, and each week, we’ll bring you the best it has to offer!

In this week’s selection of films and shows on Amazon Prime, a murdered dog escapes from Heaven in order to spend more time on Earth. Two friends travel through time in order to prepare for an upcoming history exam. Finally, a pair of men find themselves trapped in a deadly situation from which they can only escape by getting around an increasingly dangerous set of traps.

  • All Dogs Go to Heaven – In this animated musical, German Shepherd Charlie B. Barkin declines to stay in Heaven in order to return to Earth and reunite with his best friend. The two team up to rescue an orphan who is being held prisoner by Charlie’s murderer and former business partner, Carface.
  • Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure – In order to get some help studying for an upcoming history exam, totally excellent dudes Bill and Ted travel through history itself in a time traveling phone booth, meeting the likes of Socrates, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, and Joan of Arc.
  • Saw – Two men are kidnapped by the Jigsaw killer and must go to extreme and gruesome lengths in order to survive, confronting a series of increasingly demanding, dangerous, and intricate traps that they’ll only get through if they truly have the will to live.

Looking ahead

This week’s first addition to Amazon Prime’s video lineup is the third season of Tumble Leaf, which again follows the whimsical adventures of a blue fox named Fig and his friends. In Summer of 69: No Apostrophe, actors Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman offer a frank, funny, and musical take on their marriage. Finally, in Undercover, a woman who is set to become the first black Director of Public Prosecutions in London sets out to expose an unjust system, while her husband tries to keep a secret more than 20 years old.

  • Tumble Leaf – Season 3 – The latest season of Amazon’s original animated kids series once again joins Fig the fox and his friends for more adventures in a whimsical and magical land. Arrives August 15.
  • Nick Offerman & Megan Mullally: Summer of 69: No Apostrophe – Actors Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally offer a comedic, raunchy, and musical look at their marriage. Arrives August 17.
  • Undercover – Season 1 – Maya, a lawyer in London, is set to become the first black Director of Public Prosecutions. As her life comes under greater scrutiny and a case that has been with her the majority of her career comes to an end, Maya’s husband Nick fears the exposure of a secret he’s kept from her for the last 20 years. Arrives August 17.
