Apple to reportedly start shipping Apple Watch and 12-inch MacBook Air in March
The report also suggests that Apple will ship 61 million units of the iPhone in the first quarter of 2015 beating all analysts expectations, with the iPad shipping 10 million units in the same time period.
In the note, a copy of which was obtained last evening by MacRumors, Kuo also claims that a rumored MacBook Air refresh with a twelve-inch Retina display and a radically redesigned chassis will go on sale during the first quarter of this year.
According to analyst Ming Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, Apple will reveal some more key details about the Watch before its official launch in March, including its battery life specifications and pre-order details. Previous leaks have indicated that the retail training of the Apple Watch is slated to begin in February with the Watch going on sale in March.
A recent report by 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman claimed Apple was aiming for two and a half hours of “heavy” gameplay or app use, three and a half hours of standard app use and four hours of fitness tracking.
Various reports from different sources have also indicated that Apple plans on launching the 12-inch MacBook Air in the first quarter of 2015, with Quanta even ramping up production for a possible launch this quarter.
Speaking of new products, I’m glad that both the Watch and the new Air will be launching in March. When you think of it, such turn of events would be beneficial to Apple on many levels.
