Google has up to date their Android distribution numbers for January, and everything is about where we expect it to be. Ice Cream Sandwich noticed a decline, even though small, whilst KitKat greater its marketplace percentage by way of approximately 5% to 39.1%. Most of that expansion got here on the rate of the much older Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread, as they each noticed a few 1% decline each and every. Froyo is sitting at 0.4%, down from 0.5%, so it’s striking on as exhausting as it may well.
Interestingly, Lollipop hasn’t registered on those distribution numbers. Google all the time notes that they don’t show Android variations that account for not up to 0.1% of the marketplace, so if that’s the reasoning at the back of not showing Lollipop, the adoption for Android 5.0 is not just right.
Of path, Google may just all the time simply not be together with the information because the OS is so new. We’ll in finding out in the following few months as prime Android OEMs start updating their older units and freeing new telephones operating Lollipop out of the field.
Come remark in this article: Android distribution numbers show KitKat growth, but not much for Lollipop
